General Questions
- My loved one is a Federal Inmate and was transported from your facility. Where is he/she?
Your loved one has been released to Federal Authority (the US Marshal Service). Unfortunately we cannot provide this information because they are now in Federal Custody. However, you may write Federal Bureau of Prisons 320 First St., NW Washington, DC 20534 or call at Phone: (202) 307-3198.
You can also use the inmate locator online at https://www.bop.gov/inmateloc/.
- How long will my loved one be incarcerated at NNRJ?
If your loved one is a local inmate that has received 12 months or less sentence for each offense conviction, their release date will normally be calculated by our records department. Your loved one will need to fill out a request form to our records department asking their release date. Once their time is calculated the inmate will be informed and he/she can inform you.
If your loved one is a local inmate with sentences for felony convictions and the total amount of those sentences combined are more than twelve months, the Virginia Department of Corrections will normally calculate the release dates. Family/Friends may contact the Virginia Department of Corrections directly at 804-674-3000 to inquire about a release date.
If your loved one is a Federal Inmate we are temporarily holding your loved one for the US Marshals. We do not have the information of how long they will be incarcerated here. You can get more information by calling Federal Bureau of Prisons Phone: (202) 307-3198.
Medical Questions
- My family member needs Medical services.
A member of the medical staff goes to each housing unit twice daily, so there are opportunities for access to medical staff. Your loved one needs to provide the medical staff with an Inmate request form describing the complaint and what service they need i.e. X-ray, dental care, doctor call, or nurse call.
Due to HIPPA laws and out of respect for your loved one’s privacy we are unable to discuss Medical concerns with you directly.
In the case of medical emergencies, there are officers throughout the facility that will notify medical personnel.
