Contact Attorney visitation has resumed and will be conducted by appointment only. Appointments should be scheduled 24 hours in advance. To schedule your visit please call 804-333-6419 and select option 7, you will then be transferred to a jail representative that will assist with scheduling your visit. On the day of your visit please call 804-333-6419, press option 1 and follow the prompts to verify that your client is still located at our facility prior to the scheduled visit.
On-site NON-Contact visits will not need a pre approved appointment nor require scheduling 24 hours in advance. See approved visitation hours below
Discovery Information
Process for Providing Discovery for an Inmate to Review:
1 - Email Luis Bermudez at [email protected]– please include the inmate’s name and your request to send discovery.
2 - Your status as the attorney-of-record will be confirmed.
3 - You will be requested to mail the discovery in the preferred formats:
Thumbdrives, Discs, External hard drive
***Laptops are not accepted.
Please note: Discovery in paper form, above 500 pages, will be accepted in a case by case basis. Please inform us beforehand.

Attorney Client Telephone Contact Information
Attorneys who wish to contact their clients held in jail by way of telephone, may call (804)- 333-6419, ext 5005, Monday through Friday during regular business hours, and leave a message for the inmate to call. Please give your name, Bar Association Number, name of client, call time, and telephone number to contact you. Once verified, the attorney number will be secured from recording. The message will be delivered to the inmate, who can then call you from their housing unit if they so desire.
Once secured the attorney conversation will not be recorded and discussion of priviledged information can occur.
- Attorney Client Visitation Scheduling
Multiple visitation rooms are available for scheduled appointments. Attorneys are afforded visitation during the times listed below, Monday through Sunday.
- 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
To schedule contact visits, you must call Monday through Friday during regular business hours. Attorneys will still have the option of non-contact visitation through the glass visits at times listed above. These visits do not require scheduled appointments.
- Attorney Client/Professional Remote Video Visitation
The Northern Neck Regional Jail now has video visitation capabilities for attorney/client, or professionals such as doctors and or probation officials. Professionals can securely visit with an incarcerated inmate via their PC or smart phone with web cam. High speed internet access is required. The service is provided at no cost to the professional.
Should you have any questions or concerns regarding registration you can call 804-333-6022. Professionals who wish to participate in this program can register with the vendor using the button below. Clicking the button will open a new window to an external website. Please note, when adding a new facility after account creation, be aware there are two "sites". One for family and friends and another for attorneys.
Video visits must be scheduled a minimum of 1 day prior to the intended time and date. Video visits can be scheduled for any day of the week, times as follows:
- 8:30 AM – 11:30 A.M.
- 1:00 P.M.-- 4:30 P.M.
- 6:00 P.M.--10:00 P.M.
- On-Site Professional Visitation Rules
- Wearing of masks is optional during the contact visit/or while in the building.
- No family members or personal friends of an inmate are allowed to accompany any professional visitor during a contact visit.
- No family members or personal friends of an inmate are allowed to accompany any professional visitor during a contact visit.
- Do not give the inmate any articles that contain staples or other metal objects.
- Do not let an inmate keep pencils or pens.
- Do not bring in food, money, cigarettes, or drugs of any type to an inmate
- All legal material to be left with an inmate must be inspected by a staff member.
- No items may be given to an inmate without authorization from jail staff (excluding legal material which must be inspected only). If you are unsure what an inmate may keep, consult a jail staff member.
- Do not bring weapons of any kind into the Security area.
- Photographs of inmates are not allowed.
- Cell phones or other electronic devices may not be brought into the security area without pre-approval by the Deputy Superintendent.
- Tape player (audio and video), TV, or audio CD player will be provided if needed.
- You and your possessions are subject to be searched prior to entering the security area.
- While in the security area you must follow the directions of jail staff, to include leaving when instructed to do so.
- The introduction of contraband into the jail may result in criminal and or civil prosecution.
- While the jail staff will do all in its power to protect you while visiting, the Northern Neck Regional Jail cannot guarantee your safety while in the security area.
- Contact Visits may continue during headcount but visitors cannot not leave visitation room until count has cleared.
- Video Visitation Rules
Northern Neck Regional Jail reserves the right to deny, cancel or terminate a video visit prior to or during a video session based upon visitor or resident inmate misconduct. Northern Neck Regional Jail also reserves the right to restrict a visitor from participating in all future use of the system.
You must be a registered Attorney in order to use the Attorney Visitation Website.
To register for video visitation, you must submit a photo of yourself and your bar card. Appointments cannot be scheduled until you have been approved
The duration of each visit is 15, 30, or 60 minutes, determined by your needs.
Attorney Video Visits are not recorded and are not monitored by staff. A log of the visit is however created detailing the who, when, length, and status of the visit.
Attorneys should log in at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled visit and no more than 20 minutes prior to the scheduled visit. Visitors arriving late will only receive the balance of the remaining visiting time, or may not be allowed to visit, depending on the circumstances.
Attorneys are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting an officer of the court in good standing.
Attorney visitation will not be used for family and friends visitation.
Use of cell phones or any other electronic devices are prohibited. (excluding device used for the actual visit)
Violators will be barred from future visitation.
If you experience a problem with the audio or video reception during your visit, you are required to notify the visitation staff immediately.
- Attorney Assistants (members of defense team)
On occasion the need may arise for an attorney to bring other members of the defense team to the jail when interviewing an inmate. These assistants may take the form of investigator, interpreter*, Para-legal, stenographer, etc.. In order for the assistant(s) to be allowed access with the attorney the following requirements must be met:
- The attorney must submit to the jail a signed letter on his or her letterhead that contains the following information:

- Assistants name and function
- Date of the visit
- Attorney’s assurance that the assistant has no personal relationship to the inmate(s) being visited
- Attorney’s signature
- The letter must be faxed to the attention of Chief of Security, 804-333-6029 at least one business day (Mon thru Fri) prior to the visit.
- The assistant must present a valid photo ID or drivers license at the time of the visit.
Due to space limitations we ask that the number of assistants be limited to those absolutely necessary for the visit.
*A letter will not be necessary for any interpreter listed in the Certified list for Virginia Courts. The interpreter should know if they are on the list or not.
